About The Artist

Debbie has been living and working in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for 30 years. She raised her own five children along with caring for many others, and along the way has shared her joy of creativity with them all. "Play dough was as much of a staple as cheese at my house," she says. "There was always a colorful mess." After her oldest child went off to college in 1999 she began exploring sculpture as a vocation. "Although I enjoy throwing pots, sculpting with clay is where I lose time. I'll start a project and look up and so much time has passed I'm surprised."

Debbie has been sculpting original works of art for several years inspired by the nuances of facial expression. Her art is whimsical to thought provoking.

Currently, she is participating in the Arts & Craft sculpture program offered by Central Carolina Community College in Siler City, North Carolina and continues to sculpt professionally.
